This Privacy Policy describes how Zabib Tech ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use the Meri Dua mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

1.1 Anonymous Authentication

When you open the App, you are automatically signed in anonymously via Supabase Auth. This creates a random anonymous user ID with no personal information attached. This ID is used solely to sync your likes and favourites across devices.

1.2 Voluntary Dua Suggestions

If you use the "Suggest a Dua" feature, you may optionally provide:

Your name (optional) — stored with your suggestion
Dua text — the supplication you wish to suggest

This information is stored in our database and may be reviewed by the admin. Your name may be displayed publicly within the app if the dua is published.

1.3 In-App Preferences

We store your preference for shuffling duas locally on your device using SharedPreferences.

1.4 Like / Favourite Interactions

When you like or favourite a dua, this interaction is stored locally on your device and synced to our server via your anonymous user ID. This allows you to restore your preferences if you reinstall the App.

1.5 Admin Information (Admin Only)

If you log in as an admin using email and password, we collect your email address (admin@meridua.com) for authentication purposes. This applies only to the app administrator.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We deliberately do not collect any of the following:

Device location (GPS or network)
Device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, Advertising ID/AAID)
Phone number or contacts
Camera photos or gallery images
Browsing history
Biometric data
SMS or call logs

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only for:

Providing and maintaining the App's functionality
Syncing your likes and favourites across devices
Reviewing and publishing user-suggested duas
Improving the App experience

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses only one third-party service:

4.1 Supabase

Supabase is our backend provider. It hosts our database and authentication system. Supabase processes the following data on our behalf:

Anonymous user IDs
Dua content (names, texts)
Suggested duas (names, texts, submitter names)
Like and favourite interactions
Admin email (for authentication only)

4.2 Glide

Glide is an image loading library used to display background images within the App. It operates entirely on your device and does not transmit any data to external servers.

No Other Third-Party Services

We do not use:

Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, etc.)
Google Ads or any advertising SDK
Google Analytics or any analytics SDK
Facebook SDK
Any third-party tracking, remarketing, or advertising services

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device:

duas_cache.json — cached list of duas (for offline access)
interactions_cache.json — your likes and favourites
SharedPreferences — shuffle setting

5.2 Server Storage

Data synced to Supabase is stored on secure cloud servers. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data.

5.3 Backup

The App has backup and data extraction disabled (allowBackup="false"). Your data is not backed up to Google's cloud backup services.

6. Data Retention

Local data: Remains on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the App.
Suggested duas: Retained until reviewed and either published or removed by the admin.
Anonymous user IDs: Retained until your anonymous session expires or is deleted.
Admin information: Retained for as long as the admin account is active.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App may be used by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only user-provided data is through the "Suggest a Dua" feature, where a name is voluntarily and optionally submitted.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Deletion: Request deletion of your data
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Portability: Request transfer of your data

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
